Exclusive to Coromandel Helicopters, landing on ‘Whale Rock’ in the Mercury Island Group for fantastic Snapper and Kingi fishing.

Surrounded by blue water year round, with vertical drop-offs for easy land based fishing.

This 10 metre high island is suitable in almost all weather conditions.

No previous experience needed, all fishing gear and a guide arranged if required.

This site is available through the kind support of ‘Ngati Hei’.

What Should I Take?

We can arrange to organise everything you need in terms of equipment for you to enjoy your day including:

  • A top quality and well maintained fishing rod or spear gun
  • Bait, berely and Ice.
  • A hook, weight and line kit including a multi-tool; spare jigs, gaf and net.

We also recommend you bring a few of the following:

  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Plenty of water for your trip
  • Plenty of food
  • Warm and Waterproof Clothing
