JANUARY :   International Beach Volleyball Pro Tour

The tour had been running 13 years, with between 45 - 55 men and women teams expected. The tournaments are professionally organised, fun, athletic, promoting healthy outdoor activity with very fit and skillful athletes.

FEBRUARY :   Battle of the Streets Paeroa

17 races of Motorcycling Mayhem!
The Battle of the streets is an institution in Paeroa. Check out New Zealand's top riders as they ter up the street circuit set trough central Paeroa.

APRILl:  Off Shore Power Boat Race - Whitianga, Coromandel Peninsula.

2008 Cougar Marine / INEX Metals New Zealand Offshore Powerboat Race Rounbd 6 will be on in Whitianga on 12th April 2008

Racing will start at 1pm.  April 18th.

APRIL: Kings of the Coromandel 

Big Kingfish, Big Prizes The organisers of this innaugrual event are touting it as the best tournament New Zealand has ever seen. $90,000 in cash is up for grabs for the biggest kingfish weighed in over 100lbs and there is also a Seaforce 6m boat package which will be awarded to the next top angler. The Coromandel is renowned for its great fishing and winter time sees some of the biggest trophy fish caught.

AUGUST :   Whitianga Scallop Festival

A weekend long celebration of Coromandel seafood and cuisine. Over 60 food and wine stalls, cooking demo’s, loads of competitions and great entertainment!
